Make your autumn wedding extra special

autumn brideAt this time of year as summer is fading out, trees are shedding their leaves which cover the ground in beautiful fiery blankets of orange, yellow and red. Autumn has arrived, and it can be one of the most special and unique times to get married- with the stunning colours and many of the autumnal days bringing sunshine and crisp air, the weather creates the perfect backdrop for a wonderful day. As the days become shorter and the dark arriving earlier, wedding wish lanterns can continue to add something extra to your special day, an exciting event at the end of the evening to leave your guests with a lasting memory and feeling of participation and ceremony.
There are many other ways to add something to your autumnal wedding, and we’ve listed a few here for you. Happy planning!
Chocolate browns, oranges and burgundies will make your venue completely in tune with the time of year. It is always a lovely idea to make use of natural decorations as well, such as leaves, conkers and acorns, all of which can be arranged as table centre pieces.
- Serving a hot, filling meal is a great way to keep your guests satisfied. A traditional roast always goes down a treat, maybe followed by a dessert that incorporates seasonal fruits such as blackberries.
- Bridal party flowers can be mixed with leaves and berries for a truly authentic bouquet. Doing this will also help save the pennies- always a good thing!

Autumn weddings look so beautiful! When I get married someday, I would like to have the wedding in the fall, however this year seems like a bad Fall. So much bad weather and very cold! I was also wondering how other people feel about a live band versus a DJ. My parents had a Chicago Wedding Band when they got married and said it was much better than a DJ, but that was over 20 years ago. Is it better to have a DJ now or is a live band just as good? Plus, how well would this work out with a fall wedding? I always envisioned the wedding outside, but now I’m thinking photos will be outside and that’s it! Haha, that is if I ever get married! =P
